Right flippered, left flippered, or ambidextrous?

This is probably the stupidest question ever. Especially since it's most likely just a mistake on the animators or writers part. But for the sake of argument, let's just pretend it's not. Got that? Pretend that it's not.
In the episode The Big Squeeze Private comments, "Good thing you're right flippered Skipper" indicating that Skipper is right-handed(or right flippered in his case). But in Action Reaction when Skipper fills out the action request form, he writes with his left flipper. And I've also noticed a lot of the time that when he's using weapons(light saber, baseball bat, fish) he's also using his left flipper. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if one is right handed, you would be holding a sword in your right hand.
Unless, one is ambidextrous. Then either hand(flipper) can be used with equal skill.

Well I'm right handed, but once in a while I practice doing things with my left, so maybe that's what Skipper is doing. 
I mean, I heard you can teach yourself to use both hands, not just whatever comes naturally. So far, my left hand can write pretty good, but it's still kinda messy.

I'm not sure if the animators even care whether the penguins are left or right-flippered. I am also a right-hander, but I'm training myself to become ambidextrous. I can often be seen playing certain sports with my left hand, and I'm always typing on the keyboard with both hands. So my guess is actually that Skipper was right-flippered, but eventually learnt to use his left flipper with the same versatility.
In fact, if I were Skipper I would learn how to handle weapons with my left flipper too.
