Origins - what do you think?

Okay, so I was thinking, where do you guys think the penguins came from?
Here's my idea: (I used to think Kowalski would be in a Zoo, but the old site suggested him being in a Lab of some description and I like that much better!!)
Kowalski is in some Science Lab being tested on in Poland (Kowalski is a polish name, right?) and Skipper is trying to run from Hoboken to Antarctica - as he would be paranoid about there if he had lived there.
Unfortunately Skipper is caught on his way and just put in with Kowalski as that is the nearest place that could take him. They meet and get along okay.
Skipper obviously wants to bust out as he is Skipper, and Kowalski wants to go with him as he has been there his whole life. They get out and run away together, but get lost in all the corridors, and obviously the people are looking for them.
They have to duck into a room to avoid being caught, and they find Rico in there, but he's been made crazy and something happened to his vocal chords because of the testing, so they take him too because it's what's right - and the penguins always help other animals! (Or at least try to...)
Because there are now so many of them it's hard to sneak around, and one of them gets caught in a trap that had been put out to stop them escaping and the others get stuck too.
They are put in crates to be sent to a higher security place, but Kowalski uses the computer to get them transferred to go on a ship to Antarctica, but as he can't actually read he accidentally sends them to Central Park Zoo.
When they arrive they make plans to get out again, but they find an egg. Kowalski and Rico go all goo-goo over it (like with Eggy!) and Skipper begrudgingly agrees to stay until it is hatched.
During the incubation period they find their place in the Zoo (Skipper thought it would be just like Hoboken) and actually like it, with their mega-boss HQ.
Obviously, Skipper is completely in love with the chick when it hatches and they refer to him as Private until they can think of a name but it kind of sticks.
I've come up with quite a few of these but this is my favorite. Just wondering what any of you thought. Where do you think they all came from?

I know, I don't especially like that idea either, I think he's slightly older than that, and I am going to work on it but this morning I only had up to getting trapped in the Lab...I just need to think of something cool...

Yeah, I always wanted Rico to be found in the Lab, from when I started writing it. It just makes sense, and is a good plausible reason for him to be so...Rico! :L
