Have you ever wondered why or how come Rico can't talk? Here you can discuss all about it.

Some theories say it's because he cause damaged by regurgitating weapons and stuff. My theory is that he never was taught how to speak English, but he understands it. The first one makes a lot more sense though.

Well something must have happened to his larynx that stopped him from talking properly, or maybe he suffered brain damage to the bit that allowed him to speak properly. That's my theory.

Twice others have body switched with Rico(Rodger and Julien) and both times neither had trouble speaking while in Rico's body. But Rico still couldn't speak while in their bodies. So I don't think there's anything wrong with his larynx. I think English just isn't his first language. It would also explain why his speech is getting better; he's learning. But then, the question becomes if English isn't his first language, what is and, therefore, where did Rico originate from?

Then maybe that means he came from Gibberland. An as yet undiscovered place where the natives speak Gibberish and that can drive a person mad. j/k
